Nevada Wolf Pack (+12) @ Boise State Broncos Pick & Preview: As I imagined, this line has moved in my favor. You can get the Wolf Pack at +14, and those extra two points could be very big.

Am I saying that the Wolf Pack are going to come in and down the Broncos perfect season? Are they going to clear up the BCS small school picture with a single HUGE upset over Boise State in Boise? In Boise? Boy, that’s tougher to call, but in a game that is often close (or at least has been over the last 2 seasons) I think the Wolf Pack have one hell of a chance to put a wrinkle in time.

First of all, let me give some credit to the Broncos. They are one hell of a team, and they can really move with any team in the Nation on both sides of the ball. They showed early in the season what they can do to an elite rushing attack like Oregon, and they’ve proved all season long that they know how to win, even when things don’t go there way. Boise can run the ball – they’ve out-rushed all but two opponents all season long, and they have one of the most accurate and efficient passers in all of college football, the stud lefty Kellen Moore. Moore has 33 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions, and will almost certainly eclipse the 3000 yard mark in this game. Boise is grand.

But Nevada is coming in on one heck of a run. They’ve won 8 straight, covered six of those games, and out-rushed their opponents in every game, by 200 or more yards in 6 games. They can really run the ball. They have a great quarterback to their own right, a rushing and throwing elite athlete in Colin Kaepernick. Nevada has been getting closer and closer, and I think they give the Broncos a game in Boise.

Nevada Wolf Packs (-31.5) @ New Mexico State Aggies: What can I say? The Nevada Wolf Pack have scored at least 35 points in six of their last 7 games. They’ve won 7 straight after starting the season 0-3. They currently have one of the best college players in their conference leading their team at quarterback, a kid that completes 61% of his passes, has thrown 14 touchdowns, has rushed for over 1000 yards, and leads his team with 14 rushing scores. Aside from that, which is certainly something, the Wolf Pack have 5 players that have carried the ball 19 or more times, and possess a yard per carry average of 6.3 or higher. Their top two rushers (RB, Vai Taua and QB, Colin Kaepernick) have both rushed for over 100 yards, and both average better than 7.8 yards per rush. Dirty.

After a rough start to the season, Nevada is firing on all cylinders. Over the last two weeks, the Wolf Pack have outscored their opponents 114 to 21. That was San Jose State and Fresno State becoming the new bottom to Nevada’s cleats. They Wolf Pack have out rushed their last 8 opponents, rushing for at least 140 more yards than every team they’ve played during their seven game winning streak. I just can’t say enough about how impressive the Wolf Pack have been and how unimpressive the Aggies have played.

Against like opponents, it doesn’t look much better for the Aggies. Fresno State beat New Mexico 34-3, Nevada beat Fresno 52-14. The Aggies lost to Hawaii 6-24, Nevada beat Hawaii 31-21. Louisiana Tech beat New Mexico 45-7, while Nevada beat Louisiana Tech 37-14. There is Utah Sate, a game that both New Mexico and Nevada won by 3 – but I’m thinking outlier there. I’ll take Nevada and one of the Nation’s best rushing attacks.

Nevada Wolf Pack (-12.5) @ San Jose State Spartans NCAA Pick: This has gone the other way since I made the pick and sent the newsletter out on Tuesday morning, on Tuesday I got the Wolf Pack at -12.5 and it’s 14 points here on Thursday Night. I think it’s pretty clear whom the better team is, and it’s not like San Jose State is a juggernaut at home.

The Wolfpack have one of the more dynamic offensive players in the conference with quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Kaepernick has scored 10 touchdowns (9 rushing, 1 receiving), rushed for 805 yards, and passed for 1471 yards with 13 more touchdowns through the air. He truly does it all for the Wolf Pack. But this team can run the ball, with Colin, 2 other players have rushed for at least 600 yards. Running backs Via Taua and Luke Lippincott have rushed 198 times for 1341 yards and 7 touchdowns.

As a team, the Wolf Pack lead the conference in rushing and have 26 rushing touchdowns already this season. Nevada has won 5 straight after starting the season in a disappointing 3 straight loss fashion. As favorites, Nevada is 5-1 so far this season, 3-3 ATS.

San Jose State has just one win, and that’s against sub division opponent Cal. Poly. 5 of their 6 losses were by double digits. They’ve had a tough schedule, no doubt about it, losses to Boise State, Fresno State, Stanford, USC, and Utah are no joke – those are tough teams in College Football – but the rushing attack in Nevada looks like too much for San Jose State to handle. I’ll take the Wolf Pack to win by at least two touchdowns.
